- Before coloring, ask kids how the friends got their friend to Jesus. Most will know — they cut a hole in the roof. Ask, "What does that tell you about their faith?"
- For ages 5–7: keep it simple. The man's friends worked hard to get him to Jesus. Good friends bring each other to Jesus.
- For Sunday school: focus on "when Jesus saw their faith." The healing was connected to the friends' faith, not just the man's. Ask, "What does it mean that your faith can help someone else?"
- For family devotion: read Mark 2:1–12. Ask, "Who in our lives needs us to carry them to Jesus right now?"
Print and activity tips
- Color the hole in the roof with bright daylight coming through — it should be the lightest part of the upper half of the page.
- Color the crowded room in varied tones — this was a packed house, and the diversity of the crowd matters.
- Keep the man on the mat in simple, worn tones; he's been lying on that mat for a long time.
