Create My Child's PageAbout this coloring page
A man (Zacchaeus) sits in a sycamore tree, looking down at Jesus who is walking on the road below. Jesus is looking up at him with a smile, and one hand is raised in greeting. A crowd follows Jesus, and some people in the crowd are looking up at Zacchaeus with surprised expressions. The tree's branches spread wide, and the road is lined with simple houses. This page captures the moment Jesus noticed Zacchaeus and invited Himself to dinner. The tree's leaves, the varied faces in the crowd, and the road details give kids varied work while the eye contact between Jesus and Zacchaeus stays central.
Suggested Scripture: Luke 19:5 (NIV) — When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today."
The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

Create a personalized Jesus coloring pageTeaching ideas for parents and teachers
- Before coloring, ask kids why Zacchaeus climbed the tree. Most will say "he was short." Then ask why Jesus noticed him specifically.
- For ages 5–7: keep it simple. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus. Jesus saw him first. Then Jesus came to his house.
- For Sunday school: focus on the "I must" in Jesus' words. This wasn't optional — it was mission. Ask, "What's one person God is saying 'I must' about in your life?"
- For family devotion: read Luke 19:1–10. Ask, "Who's one person in our neighborhood that God might want us to invite into our home?"
Print and activity tips
- Color the sycamore leaves in layered greens — darker at the edges, lighter where the light comes through.
- Give Zacchaeus rich clothing (he was a tax collector, so he had money) but keep it in muted tones so he doesn't outshine Jesus.
- Use warm tans and grays for the road and houses; they should feel like a real village.
Discussion questions
- Zacchaeus was a tax collector, which meant people hated him. Why do you think Jesus still went to his house?
- Jesus said "I must stay at your house." What does "must" tell you about how Jesus felt?
- Zacchaeus gave half his money to the poor after meeting Jesus. What's one thing you'd be willing to give up after meeting Jesus?
- Have you ever felt like Zacchaeus — on the outside looking in? What happened?
- Jesus said salvation came to Zacchaeus' house that day. What does salvation look like in a house?
