Create My Child's PageAbout this coloring page
The angel Gabriel stands in front of Mary in her small home, his wings open behind him and his hand raised in greeting. Mary is younger than people often imagine — probably a teenager — and her posture shows she's startled but listening. A simple table, a water jug, and a window letting in soft light fill out the rest of the room. The angel's wings are detailed enough to keep colorers engaged for a while, while the room itself stays modest, which is the point of the scene: this enormous announcement happened in a very ordinary place.
Suggested Scripture: Luke 1:30 (NIV) — But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God."
The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

Create a personalized Jesus coloring pageTeaching ideas for parents and teachers
- Before coloring, ask kids what they would do if an angel showed up in their kitchen. Their first answers will be funny. Then ask what Mary actually did.
- For ages 5–7: focus on Mary's "yes." She didn't fully understand what God was asking, but she said yes anyway.
- For Sunday school: this page is a great setup for a lesson on saying yes to God when the path isn't clear. Mary risked her reputation, her engagement, and possibly her life by accepting this.
- For family devotion: read Luke 1:26–38. Ask, "What's something God might be asking us to say yes to right now, even if we don't know how it will work out?"
Print and activity tips
- Color Gabriel's wings in soft, layered tones — start with one color and add lighter ones near the edges to suggest light.
- Keep Mary's clothes simple — blues and tans were traditional — and don't outshine Gabriel.
- Add small light streaks or dots around Gabriel using a white gel pen if you have one, as if the room is glowing with his presence.
Discussion questions
- Mary was probably about your age or just a few years older. How does that change how you see her?
- The angel said, "Do not be afraid." Why do you think every angel in the Bible has to say that first?
- Mary asked, "How can this be?" Was that a faithful question or a doubting one?
- Mary's "yes" changed everything. Has there ever been a small "yes" you said that turned into something bigger?
- What do you think Mary did right after Gabriel left?
